This is quite a far off view of Trough #1. If you look down the centre of the trough you will see three green stalks without leaves. They are the Onion shoots. The leafy plants that are off to each side of the trough are Coriander plants.

Here is a close up of an onion shoot. It's quite difficult to make out but it's actually bent over in half. I reckon that as the little bad boy gets stronger it will reach up for the sun and grow to the clouds like Jack's beanstalk once did. Those seeds they sell at Homebase be magic seeds....arrrrrrrr.

This is a shockingly out of focus piccie of a really close up onion. I put it in to demonstrate my inability at practical photography.

Just so the little chaps didn't feel left out I thought I'd show you a Coriander close up. Coriander can be used to brighten up many dishes and also it gives that authentic flavour to many curries. Alternatively if your name is Steve Huxford you can use it to garnish your kebab or you could sit it atop your Guiness for decoration.

The final picture for this week is a snap of some new additions to my marching army of blood sucking vegetable death bringing immortal warrior fiends. From the left we have a red chilli plant, a red pepper plant and two moneymaker tomato plants. They shouldn't really be outside as it's a little cold for them right now. These little bad boys generally sleep inside at night and only get put out on warm sunny days.

They were kindly donated to my self sufficency fund by Dawn and Sarah [ Emma's Mum and Sister respectively ].
